At the Rogue One panel at Star Wars Celebration 2016, Gareth Edwards showed off the new planet of the Star Wars universe: Scarif, and it was revealed that scenes set in Scarif were shot in the Maldives, with minimal green screen work.
The paradise planet Scarif also appeared on the new Rogue One poster that was revealed at the same panel. Check it out:
