With most of the discussion in the Star Wars community centered around the upcoming saga installment The Last Jedi and the large likelihood that the film's first trailer would debut at the Star Wars celebration in Orlando, little is known about the next Star Wars film, the Han Solo spinoff.
However, it seems like Rogue One director Gareth Edwards has made a few interesting Han Solo tidbits available to fans, admitting how he's jealous of how smooth-sailing the film production is and how much he's excited for the movie.
Speaking to ComicBook after attending the Empire Film Awards,Edwards rained praise on the Han Solo directors, Phil Lord and Chris Miller.
"They're amazing filmmakers. I'm very excited about what they do," Edwards said. "It'll be a completely different film to what we did. I think they've got the hardest task, I think, out of all the films that I heard about that one is probably the greatest challenge and they're gonna knock it out of the park, but I wouldn't have had the balls to do that."
"They've got really good taste. You glimpse things – you try not to – as you're going about your business, but you see stuff. And everything I saw, I got really jealous about it."
While fans would reason out that a Star Wars director wouldn't be so keen on calling an upcoming spinoff as "terrible," a film that makes Edwards "jealous" is one worth mentioning, especially since the director did great work on Rogue One, a film many praised as one of the best movies in the Star Wars franchise.
Han Solo is scheduled for release on May 25, 2018.
