Social media rumors via Making Star Wars are claiming that characters in the highly anticipated film could have two of its major characters going under disguises.
The new rumor is saying that the film's protagonists, Felicity Jones and Diego Luna, will disguise themselves as an Imperial Gunner and an Imperial Commander, respectively. Considering Director Gareth Edwards' previous comments that his favorite episode in the Star Wars saga is A New Hope, this could mean that Jones and Luna's characters could be sneaking inside the enemy's battle station to save an equally important character.
The MSW report also revealed faction and character code names that could reveal more about the film.
- Felicity Jones' character code name: Green Seal Leader
- Jiang Wen's character code name: Seal Communicator Blue
- Forest Whitaker's character code name: Eel Commander
- Alan Tudyk's character code name: Seal Droid
- Villains: shark-based code names
- Factions: seals, eels, and shark-based code names
Meanwhile, Alan Tudyk's droid character was reported as more of a commando droid rather than a common one.
There is no confirmation that the aforementioned code names actually represent a character's history. In my opinion though, they could either signify their rank or the place they're from.
In any case, these are basically rumors and you should take them with the proverbial grain of salt. We'll just have to wait until December 15 to know what the disguises and code names are for.
