Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Merchandise Speculated To Have June Release

Hasbro's disappointing announcement last week of no pending release of any Rogue One: A Star Wars Story merchandise left many giving up on the thought. However, a new report is shedding some positive light on the issue, giving fans "a new hope" (pun intended) for an earlier release of the merchandise than expected.

As per Making Star Wars, fans could catch a first glimpse at Rogue One: A Star Wars Story merchandise as early as next weekend at the New York Toy Fair. The event is a gathering for media in general to see any upcoming action figures and toys for the year.

Jedi News' Justin LaSalata tweeted that wholesaler Vandor LLC is set to feature Rogue One products at the toy fair.

Additional proof comes from an Amazon listing of a 2017 Rogue One calendar set for a June 2016 release.

If these discoveries pan out, we could be getting cool Rogue One merchandise way before the film's December release. The news comes as an especially welcome surprise since many expected that the Rogue One merchandise might pattern its release with The Force Awakens, which released all figures and items three months before release.

Meanwhile, another big question hovering over fans' heads is the trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. If LaSalata and the Amazon listing are correct, I'm guessing the trailer could be released sometime in between after the toy fair and before the calendar release, either late February or sometime March. Even if there's no official trailer announcement yet, at least we have some cool Rogue One items to look forward to.
