Rocko Tackles The Modern World In First Look At The Rocko's Modern Life Revival

It looks like Nickelodeon is bringing back some of its most recognizable properties from the 90s, and one of those is Rocko's Modern Life. SDCC just saw out first look at the upcoming TV movie, Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling, and I'm sure every 90s kid is going to love what they see.

Here's the synopsis from EW:

"[Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling] brings the characters back to Earth after being lost in outer space since 1996. Rocko has trouble accepting this 21st century modern life, while Heffer and Filburt embrace every aspect of new technology, social media and the endless diversity of food trucks. Rocko whole-heartedly believes that his nostalgia for the past can save him from the tortures of the modern world."

Though it may look like any kooky cartoon for kids, I actually love how the animators are able to take the series and make it a commentary for modern society today. A lot of people like to stick to their nostalgia for the 90s, and just like Rocko in the new movie, they believe that the 90s was absolutely a better time compared to this new "modern life." Though there are certain cons with life today, the past wasn't necessarily perfect as well.

No official release date was announced for Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling, but hopefully we'll get the special sometime this year.
