Robert Downey Jr. Still Wants to Make Sherlock Holmes 3

It's been almost a decade since the release of Guy Ricthie's Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, and a lot of people are thinking, with Robert Downey Jr. so busy with his projects, the franchise is probably already dead in the water. As it turns out, RDJ still very much wants to work on a third Sherlock Holmes movie, it's probably just a matter of timing.

Talking to Entertainment Weekly, RDJ explained:

"First of all the missus is front and center with Joe Roth producing Doolittle, I'm having a good time. Though I decided to give myself, like 40 additional challenges. Like a Welsh accent - which even Welsh people say is hard to do. Then there's all the stuff down the pike, we're looking at another Sherlock Holmes, we're developing Perry Mason for HBO. I still want to do Pinocchio."

With the next two Avengers films promising an ‘end of an era' for Marvel Studios, it's possible that RDJ could find himself with more free time after the release of Avengers 4. Sure it's been five years since Iron Man had a solo movie, but that doesn't mean that Downey hasn't been hard at work with Avengers movies as well as Captain America: Civil War.

Personally, I thought Game of Shadows was a tad forgettable, even if I did enjoy it at the time. I guess I just want Guy Ritchie to work on something more modern as compared to all these period pieces that he's been doing. His style is more fit for the Man of UNCLE-type films as compared to King Arthur. That's my opinion anyway.
