There's a lot to be excited for now that 2018's finally arrived, especially for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Not only are Marvel fans getting the MCU's very first all-black superhero movie, Black Panther, they're also getting Avengers: Infinity War, the very first installment in the studio's epic two-part Avengers movie event.

Taking time to greet the New Year, Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. reminds everyone to get ready for the Earth's greatest heroes' battle with the Mad Titan, Thanos. Hopping on to Instagram, Downey Jr. wished his followers a pleasant New Year by reminding everyone about the film that they ought to look forward to this year with a screenshot of Infinity War's release date.

While it is a pretty funny post from the Tony Stark actor, Marvel fans don't really need to be reminded to head on to cinemas to watch Infinity War. There's already a lot of anticipation building up over the first of Marvel's two-part Avengers movie smash down, and everybody's itching to see Thanos wreck havoc on the Earth while searching for the Infinity Stones.

Successful as it may be, Marvel's always had a problem with its villains, and there are a lot of fans looking forward to the "compelling" and "psychotic" Thanos in Infinity War and Avengers 4.

Avengers: Infinity War premieres May 4, 2018. Its sequel, Avengers 4, hits cinemas May 3, 2019.
