Rob Liefeld: Deadpool 2 Is The Rush Hour Of Comic Book Movies

It was teased at the end of the first movie that Cable would be appearing in the Deadpool sequel, and it looks like Nathan Summers' dynamic with Wade Wilson is going to set the entire tone of the movie. Speaking to ComicBook.com, Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld talks about his excitement for Cable and the buddy cop banter that we can expect from the flm.

Liefeld explains:

"He's such a great actor, that's where it starts, and gravitas, and who else really is going to hold their ground with Ryan as Wade/Deadpool. That is energy unbridled, and so you've gotta hold your ground. When I see the two of them I'm like ‘It's going to be comic book's equivalent to Rush Hour, and I don't know if comic fans are ready for it. I think it's going to be great.'"

The buddy-cop movie is something a lot of movie-goers are definitely familiar with, but it's oddly something that we haven't seen done in a superhero film before. Sure you have your uneasy alliances like with Thor/Loki in Thor: The Dark World, but it looks like the Deadpool/Cable dynamic will be the main driving force of this movie.

I don't know how exactly Josh Brolin's Cable will be, but I'm guessing it will be close to his performance on MIB 3 where he played the no-nonsense Agent K next to a wisecracking and wacky Agent J (Will Smith).

Deadpool 2 will be directed by David Leitch (John Wick, Atomic Blonde), and the movie comes out June 1, 2018.
