Rick And Morty Co-Creator Was NOT Happy With How The Fans Were Handling McDonald's Szechuan Sauce Promo

McDonald's thought they were doing Rick and Morty fans a favor when they made the Mulan Szechuan sauce available at stores last Saturday, but what they didn't anticipate was the huge number of fans who wanted in, and the shortage of sauce had led to some 1000+ fans rallying outside some branches.

Someone who isn't happy with how this all turned out is Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland, who took to Twitter to air out his disappointment with fans:

FYI: We had nothing to do with this McDonald's stuff. Not happy w/how this was handled. Please be cool to the employees it's not their fault

For a show about a brilliant scientist who couldn't care less about anything in the world, a lot of Rick and Morty fans sure went above and beyond for a McNugget sauce from the 90s that nobody really cared about until the show brought it up last April.

For now, McDonald's is seeking to rectify this problem by promising more Szechuan sauce this coming winter. Hopefully they'll have enough stocked up to satisfy every fan who wanted a taste of the old Szechuan sauce.

As for the show, Rick and Morty has just ended its third season, and a fourth season is said to come after a "really long time." The good news is that Dan Harmon, also co-creator, is planning on adding more episodes this time around.
