Richard E. Grant Joins Wolverine 3 as Mad Scientist

Notable British film and television actor Richard E. Grant has joined the cast of the highly anticipated Wolverine 3.

The 58-year-old legendary character actor is set to take his career on a completely different path as he will be facing off with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine himself.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wolverine 3, which is set to begin production in May, will feature Grant as "a villainous mad scientist type."

Other details about his character remain unknown, but as noted by Cinema Blend, it's highly likely that the villain Grant will portray is Mr. Sinister since a "mad scientist" character has been cited as Gambit's "nemesis" to Wolverine. Fox could be setting up Grant's mad scientist character as the major villain behind the curtain.

However, there's still the possibility that Grant's character is nothing more than just a new villain created especially for Wolverine 3.

Regardless of whether the "mad scientist" is an old or new character, rest assured Grant will make a stellar performance in the upcoming film.

The actor's film credits include the 1987's Withnail & I as well as 1992's Bram Stoker's Dracula. He has also appeared in various TV shows such as Doctor Who and Girls.

Wolverine 3 is expected to be released on March 3, 2017.
