Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City Changes Claire Redfield's Mission

The Resident Evil film franchise is getting a reboot in Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. This means we'll get to meet the characters from the Capcom game series all over again. As it turns out, some of the video game characters will undergo certain changes. For instance, Claire Redfield has a different mission when she returns to her hometown.

In the games and the Resident Evil movies, Claire would return to Raccoon City to look for her missing brother Chris Redfield. That has always been the case but she has a new mission when we see her in the latest Resident Evil film.

A new Welcome To Raccoon City featurette puts the focus on the character who will be played by Kaya Scodelario. In the video, director Johannes Roberts says that “Claire Redfield is a runaway from Raccoon City. She’s run away because she feels something was very wrong there. Now she’s coming back to tell her brother some very important information.”

So what's new here? It looks like Claire is still looking for Chris. However, the big change is, she appears to know exactly where to find him and she could be coming to Raccoon City with a warning.

It's already been made clear that Welcome to Raccoon City is making certain changes to the characters. For now, we don't know what other changes will be made but we could learn more in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Kennedy, Lily Gao as Ada Wong, Donal Logue as Chief Brian Irons, and Neal McDonough as William Birkin. The film is scheduled for release on November 24, 2021.
