Resident Evil 4 Remake Reportedly in Development

It looks like Capcom is planning to cash in all over again on one of its most successful titles to date. A new report reveals that a remake of Resident Evil 4 is currently in the works.

The report comes from VCD, which reveals that the Resident Evil 4 remake has already "entered full production." In addition to that, the planned remake is already set for "an estimated release window in 2022."

So just how serious is Capcom about this whole thing? According to the report, the project is already "being led by Osaka-based M-Two, the new studio founded by former PlatinumGames head Tatsuya Minami." Moreover, the studio "has been preparing for the project since 2018."

M-Two is the same studio that worked on the Resident Evil 3 remake so it makes sense that they would be given the task to take on the next reboot. On the other hand, there is a possibility that they would be getting help from other studios as well.

We're not exactly surprised that Resident Evil 4 is getting a remake. After all, it was one of the titles that were rumored to get a new version after Resident Evil 3. In addition to that, classic games like Final Fantasy 7 are getting upgrades so they could be played in newer consoles. We're just hoping that the remake lives up to fan expectations.
