Research Confirms Who The Best Superhero Is, And It's Definitely Not Batman

Since there are so many superheroes, it's kind of impossible for us to agree on who the best is, but a seven-year study at the University of Leicester tries to shine a light on the debate, and it's definitely not Batman.

Redorbit reports that the student-lead research tracked various abilities and weaknesses to find out who the best is, and according to the study, Superman is the "best-equipped" superhero of all thanks to his high-density muscle tissue on Earth, and a Super Flare attack that could unleash energy through every cell in his body with an output of 7.07x105 Joules per second.

While a DC superhero may have taken the top spot, most of the top-tier superheroes were Marvel characters, including Wolverine, Psylocke, and Thor.

The leader of the Inhumans, Black Bolt, also gets a special mention as being "the single most destructive superhero" thanks to the potential of his hypersonic voice to level cities.

But a lot of fans would probably find this research invalidated by the superhero who came in last: Batman. According to the study, the Dark Knight has no powers and has more weaknesses than strengths.

While the study is incredibly detailed, with even supplemental papers to explain the physics involved with some of the popular powers seen in comics, the research is actually more for fun than for actual scientific progress.

"I encourage them to be as creative as possible with their subject choices," Dr. Cheryl Hurkett from the university's Centre for Interdisciplinary Science said. "As long as they can back it up with hard scientific facts, theories and calculations!"

Only a study like this would consider Batman to be the worst. It fails to mention a lot of the attributes that make Batman powerful. The chart is clearly missing a lot of check marks.

So who do you think is the best superhero?
