The penultimate episode of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2's Mugen Train arc is finally here and it doesn't disappoint. After all, the sixth episode of the anime's second season finally introduced Akaza, the Upper Rank Three demon who engages Rengoku Kyojuro in one of the most memorable fights in the franchise. Not surprisingly, fans are loving every second of it and are causing "Rengoku vs Akaza" to trend on social media.
In Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 6, Tanjiro and Inosuke succeed in severing Enmu's spine that has been fused with the train. This caused the train to go off track but the Demon Slayers survive the crash. However, Tanjiro is still injured and unable to move so he asks Inosuke to look after the passengers.
As Tanjiro lays on the ground, Rengoku approaches him and tells him to use his breathing to stop the bleeding in his belly. Just when Tanjiro manages to do so, they are ambushed by Akaza, who tries to kill the injured boy.
Rengoku springs into action and Akaza is impressed by his moves. The Upper Rank Three then tries to convince the Flame Hashira to join him and become a demon like him. When Rengoku refuses, Akaza decides to kill him and this leads to the epic fight between the two.
We've already seen the fight in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Movie - Mugen Train but fans were still eager to relive the action that also leaves Tanjiro and Inosuke in awe. Excited fans can't stop talking about it and "Rengoku vs Akaza" is currently trending on Twitter.
The sixth episode of Demon Slayer Season 2 concluded with Rengoku being badly injured from the fight and his young companions are understandably concerned as the Flame Hashira stands in shock in front of his opponent. Will Rengoku manage to snap out of it and continue to fight? We'll find out next week.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2 Episode 7 is the final episode of the Mugen Train arc. The new episode is titled Set Your Heart Ablaze ("Kokoro o Moyase") and will air on FujiTV on November 28, 2021, at 11:15 PM JST.
