Ray Fisher Wants Intimate Story For Cyborg Solo Movie

Cyborg is one of the many spinoffs that will be coming out after Justice League and it has many fans excited, particularly those that loved seeing the character in Teen Titans. The character is expected to be one of the more relatable members of the group since he's young and is still coming to terms with what happened to him. With this in mind, it's easy to see why actor Ray Fisher wants the character to have a more intimate story for his solo movie.

During an interview with Comic Book, Fisher discussed what he wanted to see in the 2020 film. While he didn't give away too many details, he said he knew when he would be Cyborg again and would like an aforementioned intimate story for the character. Teen Titans fans know that Vic Stone has one of the more tragic backstories in the DC universe and having a film explore that would be great.

Here is Fisher's full statement:

"Things are in development. If I had my druthers, I think a Cyborg standalone would be a slightly more intimate story. One of the things that I always think is interesting with these sort of universes, is whenever there's a world threatening crisis, it always makes you wonder, ‘Where are the other members of the group? Why didn't they show up?' I think finding an organic way to explain why these characters have to have their solo mission."

It's clear that Fisher wants the Cyborg film to stand alone and not have to set up a future film in the process. Warner Bros has been making a conscious effort to make sure that the upcoming DC movies are standalone, thanks to the success of Wonder Woman and the backlash of Batman V Superman. Here is hoping that the same goes for Fisher's solo film.

Cyborg is slated for a 2020 release, though the movie doesn't have a director attached to it. Fisher will be portraying the character in Justice League next week, on November 17.
