Ratings Proving Audiences Love LEGO Batman More than Batman Vs. Superman

The DC Extended Universe really has to lighten it up. That's what the ratings from movie portal Rotten Tomatoes show: The LEGO Batman has gotten a much higher approval rating over Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice from the movie-watching audience.

As shown by a search, the campy, affectionate superhero spoof which cast the Caped Crusader and his nemesis as LEGO toys got a whopping 91% fresh-tomatoes ratings. In contrast, at last sighting, the dark, dismal showdown between the two future founders of the Justice League netted a very green, spoilt 21% rating.

With these ratings, it's hard not to think of the rival Marvel Cinematic Universe which has made an art of incorporating smart, sly humor into the action and drama of its movies. Saving the world doesn't mean you don't get to crack a smile every so often. On the other hand, based on the jokes and tongue-in-cheek wisecracks in the recent Justice League trailer, maybe DC has learned its lesson and we can look forward to a more balanced enjoyable DCEU.

Who would have thought a rap-singing LEGO Batman would have been a hit? Here's crossing our fingers.

Check the clip below how Zack Synder's 2014 superhero smackdown would have looked if done as a LEGO movie.
