Rage 2 Gameplay Trailer is Action-Packed and Surprisingly Colorful

As promised, Bethesda has released the gameplay trailer of Rage 2 and it is packed with plenty of action. What might surprise fans who played the first game, however, is the amount of color that is present. This makes it much more visually appealing than the first game, which was way too grayish brown and looked dull as a result.

From what can be seen, the first-person shooter gameplay looks fast and frenetic, with plenty of guns and a unique shuriken-like weapon that looks absolutely brutal. Vehicles return as well, which adds more to the Mad Max comparison, and they can even be used for combat. It does not disappoint and already looks more appealing than the first game.

Interestingly enough, Avalanche Studios is making the Rage sequel, along with id Software. Avalanche actually worked on the Mad Max game that came out a few years ago, hence the familiar vehicles, while id Software worked on the original Rage and the acclaimed 2016 Doom reboot.

The game really runs with the Mad Max-like theme, with a big wasteland to explore and a ton of foes to shoot. What separates this from being a Mad Max clone are the various monsters seen, likely caused by an asteroid that basically caused the world to become a giant wasteland.

Rage 2 is slated for a 2019 release. It will be coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
