Earlier this week, Chinese developer NetEase released the first trailer for their new mobile game Project M, and fans noticed how the game's visuals, sound, gameplay, and characters are clearly similar to Riot's popular shooter, VALORANT. The test beta for Project M will start on Aug. 4, and players have shared some clips and images that show more of the game's striking similarities.
Project M is a 5v5 tactical shooter with the objective to plant or defuse the bomb depending if the team is attacking or defending, but fans quickly noticed that a lot of the gameplay elements are similar to VALORANT's.
There are character abilities that will remind you of Sage's ice wall, Brim's smokes, Sova's recon arrow and drone, and Reyna's flash in VALORANT, and even some of the character designs look like copy-cats of Omen and Sage.
For instance, here's a look at an ability similar to Reyna's flash:

This kind of reminds me of Haven's A site (heaven area).
Even the texture of the smokes in Project M look like Omen's or Brimstone's.

It's going to be interesting to see if Riot will respond to accuasations of NetEase's new mobile game being a rip-off of their popular shooter.
