Just last week, Prince Harry and the Duke of Cambridge made headlines following their tour of the Star Wars: Episode VIII set at London's Pinewood Studios. Now, it appears that the royal siblings' involvement in the highly anticipated film goes beyond the tour as they will reportedly be making cameos as Stormtroopers in Episode VIII.
According to the Daily Mail, a source told them that the princes have followed in the footsteps of James Bond actor Daniel Craig who appeared as a Stormtrooper in The Force Awakens. Princes Harry & William reportedly filmed cameos as Stormtroopers for Episode VIII. Craig initially denied that he will be involved in The Force Awakens before the film was released.
The source reportedly claimed:
The princes dressed up in full stormtrooper gear and filmed a scene in which Rey and Finn infiltrate a secret base," a source told the newspaper.
The rebel characters are in a lift with Benicio del Toro's character when a group of stormtroopers enter – two of whom are William and Harry.
Rumored to have the working title of Star Wars: Echoes of the Dark Side, Rian Johnson's film stars returning actors Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Daisy Ridley as Rey, John Boyega as Finn, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, Carrie Fisher as Leia Organa, Andy Serkis as Supreme Leader Snoke, Lupita Nyong'o as Maz Kanata, and Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron. The film will also feature newcomers Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern, and Kelly Marie Tran in unknown roles.
It's good to be a Royal. Hopefully, their scenes will be involve more than just getting blasted by the film's protagonists.
