Pokémon Will Celebrate It's 1000th Episode This Month

The Pokemon anime has been around for 20 years and it will soon be reaching its 1000th episode on November 9. It's a huge milestone since very few shows have reached 1000 episodes, so it makes sense to have a big episode extravaganza for the series. Details on episode 1000 are slim, though we do know an old Kanto Pokemon will be appearing.

TV Tokyo (translated by Crunchyroll) announced that Hypno would be in the new episode and would be voiced by Japanese comedian Sunshine Ikezaki. Apparently, this is his TV debut, so it should be a treat for fans that enjoy his work. Granted, he will likely just be grunting and saying the name of the Pokemon a number of times, but it's a decent enough hook.

It's actually a bit of a shame that Brock and Misty's return wasn't held off for this occasion. Since this is the 1000th episode, this is the best time to take advantage of any fan's nostalgia. While we won't be seeing Brock or Misty, fans can expect the usual fluid animation that has blessed this current season.

Pokemon 1000 will hit Japanese televisions on November 9.
