Pokémon Let's Go! Titles Might Have Trade Features With Next Mainline Game

November is going to be a huge, money-making month for Nintendo when they release Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee, the first proper Pokemon RPGs for the Switch, with a few GO-inspired features. Because of these streamlined features, fans are thinking of skipping out on the game unless something more important will be a part of it.

There might be one thing important about it; Kanto Pokemon. Since the next game will introduce a hundred or so new critters, there's a good chance that a number of Gen 1 Pokemon will miss out on appearing. During an interview with Famitsu (via Nintendo Everything), Game Freak's Junichi Masuda said he's looking into adding trade features for Let's Go and the next mainline title.

Masuda noted how there were games where players couldn't transfer some of their previous monsters to newer installments. For example, Gold, Silver, and Crystal players couldn't bring their Pokemon to Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, which led to the creations of Leaf Green and Fire Red on the same platform. Masuda would like to avoid this with Let's Go but makes no promises.

"There have been times where you couldn't bring Pokémon over from previous titles – I imagine that created some bad memories. I want to try and change that, if I can."

With all this in mind, one has to wonder what will happen to 3DS players and their critters from Pokemon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon? Hopefully, Nintendo will accommodate these players in some fashion.

Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee comes this November.
