The trailer reveals the names of the two legendaries we saw in the covers of each game: Solgaleo and Lunala. It also shows new characters in the game.

Solgaleo - is a Psychic- and Steel-type lion-esque legendary featured on the Pokemon Sun boxart. This Pokemon has a Full Metal Body ability (which prevents its stats from being lowered) and a new move called Sunsteel Strike.

Solgaleo - the lion-esque legendary from the Pokemon boxart- is a Psychic- and Steel-type with the Full Metal Body ability (which prevents its stats being lowered) and a new move called Sunsteel Strike.

Lunala - is a Psychic- and Ghost-type with the Shadow Shield ability (taking less damage from attacks from Pokemon with full HP) and a new Moongeist Beam move.

Both Sunsteel Strike and Moongeist Beam ignore the abilities of the enemies they hit.

The trailer gives us a look at Professor Kukui, alongside Lillie, "Kukui's mysterious assistant" and Hau, your "new friend in Alola".

The games also have a new addition: Rotom - the Pokemon introduced in Pokemon X&Y - which could possess various household appliances- is now part of a "next generation of Pokedexes", and can talk to you. You can check out moe details on each character in the Pokemon Company website, where you can also find out more about the Alola region, which is made up of four major landmasses, with surrounding islands. In the trailer, we see Kukui say that Alola is "chock full of nothin' but rare Pokemon".

The games will include a QR code scanner, which allows players to register unseen Pokemon, adding a location marker for where they can be found to your Pokedex. Players will be able to share QR codes.

Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon will be released for Nintendo 3DS on November 18 in the US and November 23 in the UK.
