Pokemon Go Used To Catch Cheating Boyfriend

Since the release of Pokemon Go last week, the augmented reality mobile game has been responsible for everything from robberies, a cop mistaking a Pokemon Go meetup for a drug deal, a teen stumbling a dead body. And now, it's the game's fault that a boyfriend was caught cheating. The game encourages players to hunt virtual creatures in the real-world, using a phone's mapping software to record where each Pokemon is caught, so when a cheating boyfriend visited his former lady, his relationship went downhill.

Sunnyside, Queens resident Evan Scribner told the New York Post that during a visit to his ex's home in Bushwick last week, he opened up the game to catch a Pokemon, and since the app uses Google Maps t locate and track where a player catches all their Pokemon, that creature left tracks into his game. Later when Scribner's current girlfriend checked out his game, she noticed that he had been in the neighborhood of his former girl, and promptly dumped him.

"She saw that I had caught a Pokémon while at my ex's house," a broken-hearted Scribner told The Post. "She found out last night at my house and hasn't contacted me since then," Scribner said.

Unlike Scribner, some players claim Pokemon Go has given them lady luck.

"Pokemon Go is great for my mental health. I also got laid," @TruthHurtsCrown tweeted Monday.
"Pokemon go got me laid," @blaq_sav wrote.
