Pokemon Go Pub Crawls are Real and Happening All Over the World

As if Pokemon Go as a game is not enough of a craze, now it's turning out to be the main focus of a new trend among more adult players. The Pokemon Go pub crawls are real, and there are several scheduled during the weekend and beyond.

Several events and social pages have been popping left and right schedule pub crawls with Pokemon Go as their centerpiece.

For those who are unfamiliar with the topic, pub crawls are basically tours of several bars or pubs, where attendees get drinks from each destination. We've listed a few of the destinations already set for the weekend. You might just have one happening near you.

Colorado Springs

On July 15, there will be a pub crawl in Colorado Springs, happening from 7:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. MDT. Eventbrite has listed the event, though details are still to be announced.

Sydney, Australia

The day after, there's another pub crawl happening down under in Sydney, Australia. Listed on Fievent, the event will start at 8:00 p.m. The goal is simple: to get drunk with fellow Pokemon Go players and see the types of Pokemon that can be caught in the pubs.

The page lists a number of very interesting pub crawl mechanics. What I'm actually interested to see is the last mechanic, where upon evolving a Pokemon, everyone in the group will have to sing the entire theme song.

If you're interested in this, the listed meeting place is at Australia Sydney, 50 Hunter Street, 2000.

Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Interested in a very long pub crawl in Brooklyn on July 23? If you're skipping Comic-Con for that weekend, this is a great alternative if you're in the area.

From 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. EDT, one Jeff Ramos has scheduled the event Brokelyn reported. The crawl will start at Spritzenhaus, which is right next to McCarren Park, known to be a Pokemon Gym in Pokemon Go. Details for the pub crawl can be seen via the official Facebook page.

St. Petersburg, Florida

Another pub crawl event happening on July 23 is in Vinoy Park in St. Petersburg, Florida. Hosted by Ryan McGibbeny, the Pub Crawl and Pokemon Go Day will kick off at 2:00 p.m. EDT.

The times and stops are still to be announced on its official Facebook page. Attendees are invited to wear their team color to the event.
