Pokemon Go Newest Update Is Live, Makes Life Easier for Casual, Beginner Players

Are you one of those players who have given up Pokemon Go because of all the overpowered ‘mons dominating Gyms? Or do you feel like the grind is just too much that it takes away the enjoyment in lieu of catching ‘em all when you can?

Niantic Labs has heard many of these cries from players, and the newest patch is aimed towards bringing back casual players who may have been lost during the few weeks' worth of mindless grinding once you hit Level 20.

Detailed over the official Pokemon Go website, the developer listed three major changes. The first important one is the Updated Gym Training. Those who are battling at friendly Gyms can now expect adjusted CPs for Pokemon. However, the adjustment is temporary, and there's a possibility that it will not always be the case.

But one other good news about this update is that trainers can now bring six Pokemon to train with. This makes it easier to progress through the training, which makes it more inviting to some training.

Second, there's also the Catch Bonus, which will allow trainers to get a catch bonus for a particular Pokemon type as they catch more of that specific type. This puts the medals to some form of good use, since these medals show which Pokemon types are already in your Pokedex.

On a side note, the evolution animation time has also been decreased. For those who have been trying to use the Lucky Eggs wisely, this is a crucial change. Lucky Eggs only have 30 minutes of effect, and precious seconds can go to waste because of the evolution animation. It's a good thing I've saved up some Lucky Eggs—never thought that would come in handy with this little tweak.

There's also a small tweak for the Egg and Incubator screens. This time, Pokemon Go players can finally keep better track of the progress for both mechanic, thanks to the periodic update of the tracked kilometers.

I personally have a hard time training because when I finally find a Team Instinct Gym where I can spend some time battling, it's disheartening to see three or four tiers, all of which belong to Snorlax or Dragonite. Even my strongest ‘mon Magmar can't defeat more than one round of these OP monsters.

The Pokemon Go update is already available on Android as version 0.41.2 and iOS as update 1.11.2.
