Disney has released the first trailer for Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. The trailer debuted during the season finale of AMC's Fear the Walking Dead. The trailer features Javier Bardem's Captain Salazar, who is apparently on the hot for Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp). It's interesting that Sparrow isn't shown in this teaser.
Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning (Kon-Tiki) are directing the fifth installment of the Pirates of the Carribean franchise. The film's script was written by Jeff Nathanson (Catch Me If You Can, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull). I was never a fan of the whole franchise, but with the stellar directors and writer for this film, I have high hopes for it. Watch the trailer below:
Check out the poster:
Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Bardem), escape from the Devil's Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea…including him. Captain Jack's only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.
The cast also includes Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa, Kevin R. McNally as Joshamee Gibbs, and Stephen Graham as Scrum. Newcomers: Kaya Scodelario (The Maze Runner), Brenton Thwaites (Maleficent), and Golshifteh Farahani (Exodus: Gods and Kings).
Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is set to release in theaters on May 26, 2017.
