Peter Dinklage's Voice As Ghost To Be Replaced in Destiny

Ever since the sci-fi shooter Destiny was released last year, fans have been laughing at Peter Dinklage's voice performance as the A.I. floating guide bot, Ghost.

Now, Bungie is recasting Ghost, replacing voice actor Dinklage with newcomer Nolan North (best known as the voice of Uncharted's Nathan Drake). Starting with the upcoming expansion The Taken King to be released this September, North will voice all of Ghost's lines. But he's not just performing future dialogue: Dinklage's performance was so disappointing, they're actually recording all of his lines with North's voice, removing him from the game entirely. (They'll keep the same script).

This info comes from Game Informer's September cover story, which is all about The Taken King. "We wanted Nolan North's version of the Ghost to wake you up at the start of the journey at level one and follow you all the way to level forty," Taken King director Luke Smith told the magazine.

It's been a long time since I've played Destiny. It's a great game that I'll probably pick up once again, but I'm more excited to play Halo 5. One thing I didn't like about Destiny is its constant grinding gameplay and lack of competitive multiplayer flexibility that the Halo franchise delivers. I'm hoping that the new expansion wouldn't just increase the players' level cap, but also the shooter's features as well.
