Paramount Secures Movie Rights To Comic About A Prostitute Superhero

It seems like R-rated comic book movies are turning into the fad right now. After the successful releases of Deadpool and Logan, Paramount looks to be jumping into the bandwagon by securing the movie rights to Image Comics' The Pro.

The Pro is a comic about a sex worker who gains superpowers and is recruited into the universe's equivalent of the Justice League in order to fix up her not-so-heroic attitude. The comic was created by Garth Ennis, Amanda Conner, and Jummy Palmiotti.

As of now, The Pro is still in early pre-production stages, with Zoe McCarthy (Bitches on a Boat) attached to write the script and Erwin Stoff (The Matrix) on board as producer.

With all the superhero movies coming out right now, The Pro would be an interesting addition should it enter the world of comic book movies. Though all the other heroes fight for truth and justice, The Pro looks to make fun of the genre and introduces a raunchy and rude anti-heroine.

Looks like Deadpool is going to have some competition with another foul-mouthed superhero comedy.

No official release date has been announced for The Pro.
