Ghost in the Shell fans are going to get Paramount Picture's contentious live-action film adaptation in about a week's time, and the studio has been busy gearing up fans for the film's release.
A new promo for Rupert Sander's Ghost in the Shell has been released and the video focuses on the film's main villain, Michael Pitt's Kuze. For those who aren't familiar with the popular Japanese cyberpunk franchise, Kuze (Hide Kuze) is a lesser known antagonist from the Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. 2nd Gig spin-off movie, a full cyborg who's one of the "Individual Eleven" a terrorist group that was eventually destroyed after a mass suicide.
Check out the promo video down here:
It's a thirty-second long promo video that features Kuze in a series of blips in the cyberspace, giving out his background and his motivation. The clip is visually appealing, but it's sad to see Parmount give away the motivation of the character so crudely – the first rule of writing is to show, not tell, and this Kuze just seems to be like a different version of Marvel Cinematic Universe's poorly written Ultron.
Let's see how Ghost in the Shell fares when it sees release next Friday, March 31.
