Overwatch Introduces New Talon Hero Sigma

Overwatch is currently in the middle of the Summer Games event, and Blizzard has decided that it's high time to introduce their next hero—a Talon member by the name of Sigma.

Here's his official description:

Peek inside the mind of an eccentric astrophysicist who hopes to unlock the secrets of the universe, unaware he's been turning into a living weapon: Introducing Sigma.

We don't know exactly what Sigma does in the game, but the trailer does hint that he controls gravity. There's also no mention of what kind of role he can play in the team, but based on his large stature, I can guess that he'll probably be a tank.

So far, we haven't been given any footage of how he works in-game, but hopefully, Blizzard will release something in the next few weeks. Admittedly it's been a while since we got our last hero Baptiste, so it would be cool to have someone new in the roster.

This is also just out of my own curiosity, but I'm wondering if the name Sigma has anything to do with the Mega Man X villain of the same name. I mean, if Doomfist can reference fighting games like Street Fighter, surely someone in the Overwatch development team is a fan of Mega Man.

One last observation: He kind of looks like DC's Lex Luthor in the Kryptonite-powered suit.

No release date has been set for Sigma yet, but hopefully, we can get this guy in the next few months.

Overwatch is now playable for Xbox One, PC, and PS4.
