Oscars Reveal Avengers: Endgame and Captain Marvel In Its Shortlist For 92nd Academy Awards

It looks like Marvel fans have a whole lot to celebrate today.

Comic book movies might not have that much recognition at the Oscars, but it looks like Marvel's two contenders for the 2020 Academy Awards celebration have made it into the Oscar Shortlist. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts of Sciences just recently unveiled a few of the shortlists for the 2019 Oscar categories, and it seems like Avengers: Endgame and Captain Marvel made it into the list.

The shortlist includes films under the categories for Best Documentary Feature, International Feature Film, Make-Up and Hairstyling, Best in Original Score, Best in Visual Effects, and a whole lot more. Endgame managed to find itself in the shortlist for two categories including Best Original Score and Best Visual Effects. Captain Marvel also made it into an Oscar Shortlist, getting a nod for Best Visual Effects.

The shortlist doesn't really include any of the main categories of the 92nd Oscars next year, and fans are waiting to see whether Avengers: Endgame has the chance of winning awards like Best Picture or Best Director.

Endgame was the biggest Marvel movie of the year, bringing in a slew of Marvel characters together as the core six Avengers tried their best to undo Thanos' (Josh Brolin) Decimation in Avengers: Infinity War. Not only does the film serve as the continuation of the Russo Brother's two-part Avengers movie, but it also served as the ultimate culmination of the past ten years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
