Optimus Prime Appearing In Bumblebee Movie?

Now that Transformers: The Last Knight has come and gone, Bumblebee will be the latest installment of the franchise. While the character has always been a major part of the series, reports indicated that he would probably be the only Autobot in the film. That is no longer the case apparently, as Optimus Prime voice actor Peter Cullen has confirmed his involvement with the spinoff.

During an interview with CineMovie, Cullen was asked if he would be providing his voice for the Bumblebee spinoff and he gave a simple "yes" as his answer. While he didn't say he would be portraying Optimus Prime, it's hard to imagine the actor voicing any other Autobot. It looks like we can expect the leader of the Autobots to appear somehow, though it's not clear how major he will be.

No plot details have been revealed, though it has been said that the spinoff will be more like The Iron Giant rather than a basic Transformers movie. The titular character will obviously be a major part of the story, though it will be interesting to see if he can actually talk or if he's already spouting random gibberish from the radio. This spin-off would be the perfect way to show why he talks differently from every other Autobot and Decepticon.

Bumblebee will star Hailee Steinfeld and WWE Superstar John Cena. Travis Knight will direct the film, which should get negative fans excited. Knight worked on the acclaimed Kubo and the Two Strings, so this could be the best Transformers film yet.
