True her character f Hope Van Dyne may not be appearing in Avengers: Infinity War, but Evangeline Lily is set to be one of the headliners for Ant-Man and the Wasp which comes out later on the same year. CinemaCon 2017 had Disney revealing their lineup for the next year, and with that we got a new logo for the size-altering duo.
What's cool is that we also get potential releases for a bunch of other movies alongside the announcement. The summer season will have AMATW releasing alongside The Incredibles 2, an untitled Disney Live-action movie, and Han Solo: A Star Wars Story.
2018 will also see the release of Disney animation's Gigantic, as well as the live-action version of Mulan, Captain Marvel, and Mary Poppins Returns.
No details have been revealed for the plot of Ant-Manand the Wasp, but seeing as it comes out after Infinity War, there could be some pretty high stakes for Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope. Some have even guessed that this time around, the villain may actually be Scott's mentor Hank Pym (Michael Douglas). Seeing as Pym isn't always a good guy in the comics, it would be interesting to see Lang cope with having to go against the man who gave him a second chance in life.
Though I would have loved to see Edgar Wright coming back to finally direct an Ant-Man movie, Yes Man director Peyton Reed is still attached to direct the sequel. The movie is still in pre-production, but hopefully we can get some more tidbits and news as the year trudges along.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is set for a release on July 6, 2018.
