Obi-Wan Kenobi Movie’s Working Title Hints At A Tatooine Setting

Star Wars fans went wild when Lucasfilm confirmed that it was developing a spinoff movie for Anakin Skywalker's Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Unfortunately the studio didn't release that much info on the project aside from the fact that it was negotiation with Oscar-nominated director Stephen Daldry to helm the film.

Now, a new leak on the working title of Obi-Wan helps shed some light on the highly anticipated spinoff. Omega Underground has just recently uncovered the production title for Star Wars next spinoff after Han Solo and apparently the name seems to hint at Tatooine.

The site found the project in a recent listing with "Joshua Tree" as it s working title and while the name may seem innocent enough, there's speculation that the title could be hinting at the Joshua Tree National Park in South California as one of the locations for the production.

A New Hope also shot a few of its Tatooine scenes at the Death Valley National Park and its surrounding locations, so if the production really does settle on working in Joshua Tree, it's likely that the film would definitely find itself in Tatooine.

While some would find it hard to find Tatooine adventures with Uncle Ben hardly exciting, the studio has already explored a younger version of the Jedi master in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Let's just wait and see what'll happen next.

Obi-Wan doesn't have a release date just yet but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
