Aside from Liam Neeson's surprising return as Qui-Gon Jinn, another Star Wars legend made an appearance in the finale and this is a cameo most of you probably saw coming.

After the thrilling encounter between Darth Vader and Obi-Wan which the Sith Lord lost, the former Anakin Skywalker headed back to his base to speak with someone. Who is it, you ask? None other than Emperor Palpatine aka Darth Sidious played by the one and only Ian McDiarmid who is seemingly frustrated with Vader's defeat.

Unlike Liam whose only appearance in the franchise came in Episode I - The Phantom Menace, McDiarmid has made regular appearances across all trilogies, including the Skywalker saga's divisive finale The Rise of Skywalker. Still, his inclusion in Obi-Wan Kenobi's finale left a lot of fans thrilled.

Now, it remains to be seen whether or not Obi-Wan Kenobi will actually return for a second season but judging by the stuff we saw from the finale, it's not exactly out of the question. While Lucasfilm has yet to confirm if Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen will still reprise their iconic roles in future projects, it's already safe to assume that Disney will be making the most out of their respective returns.
