Nintendo Will Let 500 Fans Play The Legend of Zelda Wii U Early

Nintendo has plans to unveil The Legend of Zelda on Wii U on next month's E3, but the company is offering 500 fans the chance to play the highly-anticipated game before anyone else

The event will be held at the Nintendo shop in New York, and it will be open for sign-ups starting June 11. All that's required is a photo ID, and kids must be accompanied with a parent or guardian. The first 500 people to sign up will receive a wristband which can then be traded in for a ticket to the demo event.

The six-day event will begin at noon ET on June 14. And Nintendo says that it will be streaming to the NY store's 15-foot TV directly from the Nintendo E3 booth in case you want to see Link in action. Trivia and prizes will also be a part of the event.

  • June 14, noon-3 p.m. ET (Nintendo Treehouse: Live screening from E3)
  • June 14, 3-8 p.m. ET (hands-on experience for fans with appointments)
  • June 15-19, Nintendo NY store hours (hands-on experience for fans with appointments)
  • June 15-19, Nintendo NY store hours (guided gameplay presentations with Nintendo experts and trivia)

The Legend of Zelda game was originally set to release in 2016, but was delayed so the team could "allow further improvement of quality."
