Mario, one of the most iconic videogame characters, is no longer working as a plumber. This information came from Mario's newly-updated Japanese-language profile. As translated by Kotaku, here's what the profile says:
"All around sporty, whether it's tennis or baseball, soccer or car racing, [Mario] does everything cool. As a matter of fact, he also seems to have worked as a plumber a long time ago..."
Mario's career has been a weird one. During his Donkey Kong days, creator Shigeru Miyamoto described the character's original form, Jumpman, as a carpenter. When Mario Bros. was released, he became a plumber.
Super Mario Odyssey will be released for the Nintendo Switch on October 27, 2017.
