Nintendo NX is Reportedly A Portable Console With TV Dock

Nintendo's upcoming NX console will reportedly be a high-powered handheld which can plug into a TV docking station, features two detachable controllers, will use cartridges, and is less powerful than Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

The details were leaked by Eurogamer, who claims that multiple sources shared the details about the new system, saying that Nintendo's new pitch is simple - that players can "take your games with you on the go". Controls are attached to either side, and can be removed as two smaller controllers for use in local multiplayer.

As Eurogamer reports, there is a TV docking station into which the console can be plugged, and the central processing will be handled in the handheld itself. The docking station seemingly provides only external display and not more processing power that's been rumored for a while. According to Eurogamer, you can use one controller to play all the games on the console while being away from home, and a second controller can be "bookended" to make the game screen larger.

The site also claims that the return to cartridge-based physical games is true. Players would be able to insert them via the game controller.

In a separate article, Eurogamer reports that the console will be powered by Nvidia Tegra X1 mobile processors. Eurogamer's Digital Foundtry says that the NX will perform better than last gen's PS3 and Xbox 360, but will be less powerful than the PS4.

Eurogamer has bee told that the Nintendo is trying to offer something different to the current console selection rather than chase graphical parity.

So what do you think about these leaked details about the Nintendo NX?
