Nightcrawler Gets Awesome New Look in X-Men: Red

February's X-Men: Red is one of the most anticipated comics coming out in February. It will take place after the events of Phoenix Resurrection, with a talented creative team consisting of Tom Taylor (All-New Wolverine, Injustice) and Mahmud Asrar (All-New X-Men, Indestructible Hulk). The series' covers will be drawn by Travis Charest and he has outdone himself with the cover for issue #2, revealing a bearded Nightcrawler.

Nightcrawler, aka Kurt Wagner, seems to be leaving Kitty Pryde's Gold team for Jean Grey's Red one, though the reason is still unknown. When the team was revealed, Kurt looked the same, which no one really complained about. However, this cover has shown the X-Man sporting a new beard, which actually looks pretty good.

Revealed by X-Men editor Mark Paniccia, it will be interesting to see how the series explains his beard, assuming it takes the time to do so. Fans will remember how Colossus sported a beard while in his steel form, so weirder things have happened in the world of comics.

X-Men: Red #1 comes out in February. X-Men: Red #2 comes out in March and will have the awesome bearded cover of Nightcrawler.
