Niantic Labs Lists Pokemon Go Bugs and Promises They're Working On It

Pokemon Go has been wildly popular, but the app is not without its bugs, as developer Niantic Labs acknowledges. Niantic Labs has released a troubleshooting page on the official Pokemon Go website outlining ways to deal with the current problems in the game. At the top of the page, Niantic has a message reading "Due to the incredible number of Pokemon Go downloads, some trainers are experiencing connectivity issues. Don't worry, our team is on it!"

The bugs listed on the page include GPS problems, where the users location is incorrect, missing or stuttery. Niantic promises they are working to improve "GPS accuracy and stability" and tells users the quality of their GPS depends on their device and the strength of their connection. The page also advices users to check their settings and make sure locations permissions and intenet connecton are enabled.

The page also addresses issues like trainer progress being reset to level one, which Niantic says is due to users having two accounts at once. Users can accidentally create multiple accounts by logging in with Google and then later logging in with the Pokemon Trainer club. The page also suggests signing off and restarting to resolve issues like premium items not appearing and "you already own this item" error messages.

For some problems, like distorted audio and the app draining batteries, Niantic can offer no solution so far but promises they are working on it. The worldwide launch of the series has already been paused until server issues are taken care of. Huge projects like Pokemon Go rarely have smooth starts and a lot of users are having issues, but it's likely that Pokemon Go experience will improve as the team figures things out.
