Niantic Announces Pokemon Go Week In South Korea

Pokemon Go gamers in South Korea are in for a treat, because it looks like there's going to be a ton of Pokemon events and Pokemon spawns during Pokemon GO Week this year.

Niantic has just recently announced a week-long Korea-exclusive Pokemon Go event. Running alongside a the Pokemon Festa organized by the Pokemon Company, the annual South Korean Pokemon GO Week brings with it the Pikachu Outbreak (an event were dancers run around dressed as Pikachu) and a string of other events in one of the country's major cities.

According to a report by Comic Book, this year's Pokemon GO Week will be held at Seoul's Lotte World Mall starting on November 11 and November 12. Niantic has decided to add to the celebration by mixing a tone of different special spawns and events to Pokemon GO week. Not only will gamers in Seoul get the chance to join in different raids and get the chance to capture Lugia, Zapdos, Moltres and Articuno, but the players in South Korea will also get the chance to capture Mr. Mime and Unown while enjoying increased spawn rates of different types of Pokemon around the country.

While it's unfortunate that players outside South Korea won't get the chance to join Pokemon GO week, it's good to see that Niantic's been continuing its line of location-specific Pokemon Go events.

Pokemon GO Week in South Korea starts on November 4 and ends on November 12.
