Next-Gen Xbox Revealed During The Game Awards and it Has a Dumb Name

Microsoft decided to shock the world by announcing their next-generation Xbox and it sure has a weird name. The company has always been unconventional when it comes to naming their consoles, going from Xbox to Xbox 360 then Xbox One and now, Xbox Series X. I wish I was kidding but the new console is seriously going to be called the Xbox Series X and wow, that is a lame name.

Now, mean jokes aside, the design is kind of interesting. Since this is Microsoft, the company revealed that their console would look like a PC, which is interesting, to say the least. Then again, with most games available on Steam and the Epic Games Store, it's clear that the company knows this console will likely appeal to the demographic who purchase their games there.

Hell, the Xbox Game Pass and several Xbox One "exclusive" games have made their way to PC already. This is arguably just a more convenient PC that players won't have to upgrade, which isn't a bad thing.

In a smart move, the company did purchase several talented developers to make great games for them, which could put the odds in their favor when it comes to exclusives. Lord knows that the PS4 and Nintendo Switch dominated this year due to the games exclusively available in these consoles so Microsoft playing it smart is great, especially with the gorgeous-looking Hellblade 2: Senua's Saga announced.

Xbox Series X will be launching on Holiday 2020.
