New X-Men: Apocalypse Clip Teases ‘Cage Fight’ Between Nightcrawler and Angel

X-Men: Apocalypse will see numerous fan-favorite mutants in their early days pitted against each other on the battlefield. However, two such characters who will be facing off before the big battle are Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee) and Warren Worthington III/Angel (Ben Hardy).

In a clip from X-Men: Apocalypse shared by 20th Century Fox’s YouTube channel, we see new footage from the film where the two mutants are forced to fight each other inside an electrified cage.

Of course, Nightcrawler isn’t really keen on fights, so he tries to escape the battle by teleporting away, but he finds out that he can’t get out of the cage that easy and he is soon struck by Angel’s wings. At this point, Mystique finds a way to stop the fight by working her way to the club’s electrical grid thus disabling the fence. The fight will not finish and Nightcrawler is obviously rescued by Mystique.

Mystique will be taking Nightcrawler to Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters to live with other young mutants troubled by their special abilities. Meanwhile, Angel will soon become part of Apocalypse’s Four Horsemen.

If the fight wasn’t stopped by Mystique, it would seem Angel would have won, but it could be a different case once the two are out in the battlefield and Nightcrawler gets some training from Professor X’s school.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27.
