New Stranger Things 2 Poster Parodies A Nightmare On Elm Street

Everyone is currently geeking over the new season of Game of Thrones, but come Halloween it will be Stranger Things' time to shine. The series has been getting some steady marketing as the release date draws nearer, and a new poster has been released parodying that of A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Here's the Stranger Things poster:

And here's the original Elm Street Poster:

I absolutely love the coincidence that both properties have a character named Nancy in them, so the reference is spot-on. Besides the 80s setting of Stranger Things, the Duffer Brothers have also made it clear that the show was inspired by a lot of 80s material as well, so you can expect Elm Street to have its own influences on the show.

After the edge-of-your-seat thriller that was the first season, a lot of people are wondering just how the Duffer Brothers are planning to top it with this next one. From the looks of it, Will Byers is still in a lot of trouble, and it will be up to his friends to try and save him from the Upside-Down.

Here's the series synopsis:

It's 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the Demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.

Stranger Things 2 comes out on Netflix Oct. 27.
