Latest Star Wars Battlefront II Update Gives Look at New Skins and the Scarif Map

As promised, we're getting the Community Transmission for Battlefront II's Scarif Update today, and besides a look at the new map, we have confirmation of new game modes as well as new skins for upcoming heroes.

Head to the tropical planet of Scarif and fight in a beautiful scenery – contrasted by towering Imperial facilities. With the next free content update for Star Wars Battlefront II arriving on April 29, iconic locations from the Age of Rebellion will be added to Supremacy, along with a new way to play Instant Action.

What's great is that the Scarif expansion will also allow players to take control of shoretroopers, a variant that's been introduced in Rogue One. We're also getting a new skin for the rebels that fight on the islands.

Probably the most anticipated is a look at skins for heroes like Maul and Palpatine. While it's a tad nitpicky at this point, I thought Maul's look needed to have his scarf/hood to complete the appearance. As for Palpatine, I'd think that they should have made his rob look less tattered.

Besides that, we have some "new" skins for Rey and Kylo that I didn't think I wanted. Rey and Kylo's TROS skins have been given an alternate hooded look, and we can also give Rey the yellow lightsaber that she never gets to use in the movie. I'm just hoping these skins will come cheaper if you already own the new ‘base' version.

By the end of the video, it kind of sounds like the devs are signing off with the upgrades of this game, but I'm crossing my fingers that I'm just misreading things. With the game just getting a new player base at the beginning of the year, there's just so much more they could do to keep it alive for a few more years.
