New Rumor Details Darth Vader’s Presence In Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Despite the expansion of the Star Wars franchise, Darth Vader remains one of the biggest villains in Star Wars history, making fans gasp in delight every time they hear the Sith Lord breathe on the big screen. Though the Star Wars sequel trilogy takes place years after Darth Vader's death, the villains' influence remains, taking a hold over his grandson, Ben (Adam Driver).

Now, as Lucasfilm prepares to release Star Wars:The Last Jedi, rumor has it that Vader's influence over the sequel trilogy will continue to radiate as the follow up to The Force Awakens makes its way to the big screen.

According to a report by Star Wars YouTube personality, Mike Zeroh, sources from Pinewood Studios have opened up to him about Vader's involvement in The Last Jedi.

The Sith Lord had a lot of influence over Kylo Ren in The Force Awakens, and it seems like fans will be reminded of that tragedy in the film's sequel. According to Zeroh's sources, fans will first hear Vader being mentioned in a conversation between Leia (Carrie Fisher) and Admiral Holdo (Laura Dern).

"Holdo reminds Leia who her father really was and how he destroyed her son indirectly. Holdo mocks Leia countless times leading to them separating and splitting the Resistance into two teams with Poe Dameron following Leia."

Dern's character has been described as a rival to General Organa, and while it's uncertain whether this new rumor regarding Vader is any bit accurate, we can certainly imagine Holdo trying to fire shots at everyone's beloved space princess. Let's wait and see what really happens when Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres later this year.

The Last Jedi hits cinemas December 15, 2017.
