New 'Pokemon Generations' Anime Announced

A brand new Pokemon anime has been announced and the trailer for it has already debuted on the official Pokemon YouTube channel. The anime is called Pokemon Generations and unlike the current Pokemon anime, it will be based entirely off the storyline of the Pokemon games. The description for the trailer says the anime "revisits each generation of the Pokémon video game series to shed new light on some timeless moments".

The Pokemon Generations anime will be series of shorts that 3-5 minutes long. It will consist of 18 episodes that will be aired on the Official Pokemon Channel on YouTube. The first two episodes will be released on September 16 and from there episodes will be released weekly on through December 23.

You can see the trailer for the anime below:

The trailer shows several iconic moments from the Pokemon games, including the final battle between Red and Blue from the first game and the battle against the Gyrados in Pokemon: Gold and Silver. The trailer is also in English, which means we'll presumably be getting an English dub alongside Japanese releases.

A poster for the new anime was also made available through serebii.net. See it below:

The anime isn't very long, so I'm happy to give it a look. What do you think of the new anime? Will you be watching it?
