New Kingdom Hearts III Footage Looks Amazing

At the Jump Festa event in Japan, Square Enix unveiled a beefy 5-minute long trailer for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8, the last two minutes of which included some brand new Kingdom Hearts III gameplay. This is exciting news for fans of the series, because it means that we are finally getting closer to getting our hands on the long-awaited RPG. The trailer starts out by showing some of the story cinematics for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8, which include a HD remaster of the Nintendo 3DS game Dream Drop Distance. But when it approaches the 4 minute mark, Kingdom Hearts III footage starts playing, and we're treated to some stunning environments, gorgeous particle effects, and the unique real-time combat that makes Kingdom Hearts a favorite among JRPG fans.

This trailer definitely rekindled my excitement for Kingdom Hearts III. The game seems to have stayed true to the feel of the amazing first two core games in the series, but with clearly enhanced visuals and combat mechanics. The only thing the trailer is lacking is a release date. We know that Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 is coming to PS4 sometime in 2016, and Kingdom Hearts III will be released after that. Hopefully we will get more information about this soon, but in the meantime, check out the awesome new footage below!
