New J.K. Rowling Stories Will Explore Wizardry in North America


"The Wizarding World you thought you knew is much larger than you imagined."

On Monday, it was announced that a new series of J.K. Rowling's stories will be released on Pottermore, the official website of all things Harry Potter. The stories will explore "The History of Magic in North America". Rowling's original stories will help provide the background that would connect the Harry Potter novels/films with the upcoming film trilogy, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.

The first chapter will be released on Pottermore on Tuesday March 8 at 9 am ET, with the rest probably appearing daily, as the announcement states, "this week".

The stories will explore the wizarding history in North America. We'll also learn the names of the U.S. versions of Hogwarts and the Ministry of Magic in the stories, as we explore the school of Ilvermorny and the Magical Congress of the USA.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be released in theaters on Nov. 18, 2016.
