New Harry Potter Theory Suggests Severus Snape Lives

Have you ever wondered why Severus Snape didn't appear when Harry Potter used the Resurrection Stone in Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows? Snape died when Voldermort's slithering Horcrux, Nagini bit him, but is he really dead?

Redditor DER_GOTTKAISER shared his reasoning on r/Fantheories, providing two main points: "Snape's corpse isn't found or mentioned." and "Snape doesn't appear when Harry uses the resurrection stone"

According to the theory, Nagini's venom from when she attacked Snape in the Shrieking Shack (boathouse in the movie franchise) didn't actually kill Snape; it just paralyzed him. Since he's been a potions master for so long, he might have had access to an antivenom. He might have taken it before the bit or carried it around at the time Nagini bit him.

"I think Snape would have obviously taken some kind of prophylactic antidote beforehand," he writes. "So Voldemort's snake didn't actually kill Snape, it just temporarily paralysed him and made him look like he was dead. That's why the elder wand didn't belong to Voldemort, cause he hadn't really killed Snape. Snape's body is not mentioned at all, and his ghost doesn't appear with Lupin's and Harry's parents, even though it should have, so Snape obviously survived."

That makes sense. The Redditor went on to theorize that Snape is probably traveling around the world. While this is a nice thought, many posters belived it was unrealistic. Snape's absence when Harry used the Ressurection Stone could simply mean that, despite his sacrifices, he was still not dear to Harry's heart. Harry might have respected Snape but he didn't love him as much as he loved his parents, Sirius, and Lupin.
